Composting is quick and easy with our Greenman Indoor Composter. Designed for small spaces and indoor use, this unique 5-gallon composter utilizes the microbial power of Greenman starter to activate your food waste’s fermentation—right under your sink. Its unique design combines two innovative features—a strainer and a spigot—that allow you to drain moisture, effectively eliminating odors and deterring flies. All you should smell is the sweet-and-sour scent of fermentation.

As a bonus, the liquid you drain makes a powerful plant fertilizer, kitchen or bathroom drain cleaner.

Dimensions: 16” h x 10” w x 10” d

Usage:

To start indoor composting: Cover the bottom of the Indoor Composter bucket with a layer of Greenman starter. Place fresh food scraps in the bucket, thoroughly coating every layer of scraps with a layer of compost starter. Close the lid tightly after every use to ensure an anaerobic (oxygen-free/closed-air) environment. Oxygen can cause odor during the composting process. Make sure to drain liquid frequently to prevent putrefaction.

Once your bucket is filled to capacity, bury the bucket contents—your compost—directly in soil—or let the food waste continue to ferment for two weeks, draining the liquid compost tea every 1-3 days. Then transfer compost from your bucket to your garden or planter. Allow at least two more weeks for the fermentation process to continue in the soil before planting your favorite veggies, flowers, trees, or more.

Storage:

Place your compost bin under your kitchen sink or in any other convenient, indoor location. The Indoor Composter is not designed or suited for outdoor use, as extreme temperatures can change or halt the fermentation process.
