Ellen AB is a Swedish biotechnology company founded in 2000. Behind Ellen’s proprietary products lies many years of research in microbiology and collaboration with several universities. During the 1990s, researchers identified different lactic acid bacterial strains that are found naturally in the healthy women’s abdomen flora.

In 2003, Ellen was the first to offer women a tampon with lactic acid bacteria. The probiotic tampon supplies lactic acid bacteria (lactobacilli) to the abdomen to restore and maintain a healthy bacterial flora in the abdomen.

Lacto Naturel (LN®) – the best friend of the womb

A good lactic acid bacterial flora is the foundation for a healthy subvertebral health. Ellen’s proprietary products include Lacto Naturel (LN), a mixture of lactic acid bacteria from three patented strains: L. fermentum LN99, L. rhamnosus LN113 and L. gasseri LN40.
