SoftGuard activates the plants' own immune system so that it can more easily overcome the attack of pathogens. It speeds up the healing of plant wounds, strengthens their defenses, and promotes their coloring.

SoftGuard is a food source for plants (complex sugar) that increases plant yield.

SoftGuard is bactericidal, fungicidal, insecticidal and insect repellent.

The part of the genes stored in the plant's DNA works that is needed, so most of the defense genes are inactive, if there is nothing wrong, these defense genes are activated by SoftGuard so that the plant can more easily react against pathogens.

The active ingredient of SoftGuard is chitozan, which is produced from chitin, primarily from the chitin armor of mussels and crabs. Chitin is the second most abundant organic molecule after cellulose. Since chitin forms the basis of bacteria, fungi and insects, when the plant encounters it, it perceives it as a foreign organism and activates the dormant genes necessary for protection. Chitosan has been authorized in the EU since 2014 as an active ingredient that increases the resistance of plants.

Trichoderma or Mycorrhiza fungi also trigger a similar immune reaction from plants.
