Citric acid (citric acid-anhydrous) is a natural, weak acid, that has excellent descaling qualities. Suitable for descaling small household appliances like coffee and tea makers. It is capable to do anything that vinegar can, only without the smell :) You can also use it on metal surfaces (taps, sinks, dishes) and tiles.

Citric acid is totally safe since it is an often used food commodity.

Ingredients: 100% citric acid anhydrate.

Instructions: For descaling, wet the surface and then sprinkle with citric acid, scrub, if necessary. For washing machines, put 2-3 tablespoons of citric acid into the empty machine, and start a 40°C short program.

Tips:

1. You can also use citric acid as a fabric softener: just put 1-2 tablespoons into the fabric softener compartment!

2.  For cleaning tiles, counter top, or even windows dissolve 2-3 tablespoons of citric acid into 0.5 liter water.

3. Put 3-4 tablespoons of citric acid in your electric or traditional kettle, and leave it for a while. You can increase the effectivity by boiling.

4. You can make your on descaler gel by mixing it with water and Solagum.
